his design represents some small comforts like the sound of rain, going outside for walks, newly sprouting plants, & trying to take a few moments each day to notice little things that are good.

Blue Grass can function as a shawl or scarf; the trapezoid shape has a lace center panel flanked by slowly increasing garter stitch sides. Wrap and turn short rows (with NO picking up the wraps) help shape this interesting piece. Wrong side rows have simple patterning.  Flowing fringe adds a bit of romanticism, too.

Use either charts or the full written instructions. The design is suitable for fingering or sport weight yarns; be sure to adjust yardage requirements when making substitutions.  Pattern is written in American terminology.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN:  Bio Balance by BC Garn (55% Wool / 45% Organic Cotton; 50g/246 yds): 4 Skeins.  Shown in Aqua. This light weight heathered yarn is perfect for warm weather climates that require a touch of warmth while allowing the garment to breath.  Bio Balance is a 100% organic blend yarn that is certified by GOTS. GOTS certification requires that all stages of the production are ecologically, environmentally, and ethically sustainable from start to finish. The growing conditions, dye processes, waste water treatment, and fair and ethical working conditions must meet GOTS standards. GOTS is the only internationally recognized organic certification. 

ALTERNATE YARN: United by Queensland Collection (55% Organic Lambswool / 45% Organic Cotton; 50g/251yds):  4 Skeins.  Beautifully heathered, organic yarn milled in Turkey that is made under GOTS certifications with the strictest guidelines.  Please know that United and Bio Balance are interchangeable. PRE-ORDER now available in all colors. ALTERNATE YARN: Hempathy by Elsebeth Lavold (41% Cotton / 34% Hemp / 25% Modal; 50g/153 yds): 6 Skeins.  This yarn is both sturdy and excellent for warm climates to protect you from the night breezes.  Hempathy was chosen for its excellent stitch definition over cables and lace and its straight fibers for fringe. 

ALTERNATE YARN: Arroyo by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/335 yds): 3 Skeins.  This variegated yarn is perfect for cool climates with chilly days.
