This sporty and comfortable dress is worked seamlessly from the top down.  Stripes & bold color are kept on the top to keep the focus near the face, enhance the shoulders and create a slimmer silhouette, while the pattern of the shoulder saddle adds some texture to the shoulders.  The back and front are worked from the shoulder saddles to the armholes. After the underarm the body is knitted to the hemline in one piece. The sleeve stitches are picked up and the sleeve cap is knitted with short-rows to allow the seed stitch pattern of the saddles to flow into the sleeve.  The dress is shaped with darts for a three dimensional tailored result and the waist is kept slightly higher than usual. 

Different positive ease at the bust, the waist and the hips allow for a more flattering shape, that does not cling to the body.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Coast by Holst Garn(55% Merino Wool / 45% Cotton; 50g/383yds): 3 (3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 7) Skeins Main Color (MC) & 1 Skein of Color A & Color B.  Shown in Denim, Silver Grey & Fairy.

ALTERNATE YARN: Bio Balance by BC Garn (55% Wool / 45% Organic Cotton; 50g/246yds): 4 (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11) Skeins MC, 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2) Color A & 1 Skein Color B. Slightly heavier than Coast but in beautiful, bold, heathered colors, too.  This yarn will gauge up nicely and make a stunning yet practical dress.  Please use the PRE-ORDER button to do a specific color combination that will ship immediately.  Simply add your colors in the "Notes" at checkout.
