From Knitscene Fall 2016, this side-to- side knitted skirt has an elastic waistband, and slits on the bottom of each side allow for movement. Four slip-stitch triangles along the waist create a nice graphic detail. This skirt starts with a provisional cast-on and is grafted at the center back.
Kit includes magazine with pattern inside (while available) or pattern and selected yarn. For yarn winding services, click here.
DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Superwash Worsted by SweetGeorgia Yarns (100% Merino; 115g/200yds): 5 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) skeins. Shown in Terra Firma.
ALTERNATE YARN: Rios by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 5 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) skeins. Rios is a slightly less thick yarn (worsted weight) than SweetGeorgia's SW Worsted (aran weight). However, this yarn will provide full coverage due to its gauge (no lining necessary). Rios has a similar twist and should wear well with little pilling, just like the specified yarn.
ALTERNATE YARN: Merino Worsted by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 5 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) skeins. Merino Worsted will knit up at an aran weight gauge most readily due to its fluffy nature. This yarn may not wear as well as Rios (Rios is a multi plied yarn whereas Merino Worsted is single ply) but has the same lovely colors available.
