The body of Beatrix is worked flat in one piece beginning at the back hem. Stitches are then held for the neck and the left and right fronts are worked separately. A mitred border and collar is worked on the fronts, sleeves are then worked flat and seamed.

YARN: Acadia by The Fibre Co. (60% merino wool, 20% baby alpaca, 20% silk; 50g/145 yds): MC 2 (3, 4, 4, 5, 6) skeins, CC 1 skein. Shown in Sand & Summersweet
NEEDLES: US 3 / 3.25 mm 24" circular needle. US 3 / 3.25 mm straight needles.
NOTIONS: 1 - 1” button, darning needle, 4 stitch markers, Stitch holders.
SIZE: 0-6 mos (6-12 mos, 12-18 mos, 2T, 3T, 4T).
GAUGE: 24 sts + 48 rows = 4” (10 cm) in garter st, after blocking.

A note from Yarn Loop-Since babies and toddlers grow so fast, it is always a good idea to make the jacket one size too big so that it lasts the entire season. Simply roll up the cuffs for the beginning of the season, and by the end, you should be unrolling them!
