The Brunch Shawl, featured in Knitscene Winter 2019, is a garter stitch shawl made in organic Merino yarn that has a simple cable pattern that runs along the edge. It is worked back and forth in rows from the right point to the left edge. Slip stitches are worked purlwise with yarn in front of work.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Green Line Organic Sport by Jagger Spun (100% Organic Merino Wool; 10g/332yds): 3 Skeins. Shown in the color Pebble.
ALTERNATE YARN: O-Wash Sport by O-Wool (100% Washable Certified Organic Merino Wool; 100g/304 yds): 3 Skeins + 1 MINI. Gentle processing with environmentally friendly procedures to prevent felting and create beautiful solid colorways. Milled & dyed in the USA from wonderfully soft merino wool. This yarn has been discontinued.
ALTERNATE YARN: Arroyo by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/335yds): 3 Skeins. Kettle-dyed in small batches to create subtle to highly variegated yarns. Washable, wonderfully soft and bouncy Merino wool from Uruguay.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 80" wingspan x 17.5" tall at centerline
YARDAGE: approximately 996 yds of sport weight yarn
SKILL LEVEL: Easy
NEEDLES: Size US 6 / 4mm 29" circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
OTHER TOOLS: Stitch marker, Cable needle & Tapestry Needle
GAUGE: 19 sts x 38 rows = 4" in garter stitch. Gauge is not crucial for this project, but will affect yardage and finished size if different from above.
