The Raina Shawl by Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits was inspired by the Maori people in New Zealand where "raina" literally means line. This shawl displays radiating lines which resemble the ceilings in the Maori's meeting houses. This brioche shawl has lines working in different directions, built up by short rows, and form the knitted fabric to frame your shoulders and warm your neck.
This beautiful pattern is presented in Making No. 4 / Lines but is also available individually. If you have never bought a Making book, please consider purchasing one because it is full of beautiful projects ranging from knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting and cooking!
