DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Solids by Lion Brand (80% Acrylic / 20% Wool; 170g/106yds)
ALTERNATE YARN: Magnum by Cascade Yarns (100% Wool; 250g/123yds): 2 Skeins. This 100% Wool yarn is warm, long wearing, and beautiful! Why use an acrylic blend when you can have the real fibers? After all, Claire would never have worn acrylic in 18th Century Scotland.
ALTERNATE YARN: Bulky by Blue Sky Fibers (50% Alpaca / 50% Wool; 100g/45yd): 5 Skeins. This LUXE yarn has an amazingly soft hand and charming natural or pastel colors. This yarn will have more drape than Magnum. Alpaca is very much like cashmere in its qualities of warmth and silkiness and is quickly becoming a favorite among knitters. If you haven't yet tried alpaca, now is the perfect opportunity to try this luxurious and beautiful yarn!
ALTERNATE YARN: Outer by Spud & Chloë (65% Superwash Wool / 35% Certified Organic Cotton; 100g/60yds): 4 Skeins. This hard working yarn is suprisingly soft and squishy and perfect for the stitch definition needed in this pattern. Pick a bold color to frame your face and pair with a neutral jacket for a stunning winter look. Use for warmer climates along the southern coast.
