This brilliant project by Jesie Ostermiller is the perfect accessory for a winter coat or that glamorous winter party.  This pattern is available in Knitscene Winter 2016, and is one of 4 beautiful designs by Jesie.  To create the cowl, you will need to know how to do a provisional cast-on, work 2 color fair-isle (also known as stranded colorwork), and be able to graft the ends together.  Any intermediate knitter should be able to complete the project.

 Fingering Weight

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Cumbria Fingering by Fibre Company (60% Merino Wool / 30% Masham Wool / 10% Mohair; 100g/328yds): 3 Skeins MC & 1 Skein CC.  Shown in Derwentwater & Scafell Pike. 

ALTERNATE YARN: O-Wash Fingering by O-Wool (100% Washable Organic Merino Wool; 100g/394yds): 3 Skeins MC & 1 Skein CC.  O-Wash Fingering is a wonderfully soft, multi plied merino yarn in solid tonal colors.  O-Wool uses environmentally friendly processes to maintain the original wooly hand as well as low impact dyes.  PRE-ORDER available in any 2 colors.  Please allow at least 7 business days for shipping pre-orders to your location.

ALTERNATE YARN: NatureSpun Fingering by Brown Sheep Co. (100% Wool; 50g/310yds): 4 Skeins MC & 1 Skein CC.  This kit is created with your budget in mind.  While NatureSpun is not made of Merino Wool, it is a great alternative that fits your budget.  This solid color yarn is multi plied and will last for years to come. Please pick any 2 Brown Sheep colors.  Please allow at least 7 business days for shipping pre-orders to your location.

NEEDLES: Size US 3 / 3.25mm 16" circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge  & Size D-3 / 3.25mm Crochet hook
