Marina's softness and drape feel wonderful next to the skin in scarves or shawls. It comes in tonal and space-dyed colorways and is made of superwash merino, which gives the colors beautiful depth. A full skein has 874 yards per skein which is more than enough, especially for colorwork, so Yarn Loop is also offering 50g skeins to minimize extra yardage. Each mini will be wound into a center-pull cake so you can start your project right away.
Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project since each skein may vary one from the other. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball. Full Skeins also available here.

About Manos del Uruguay: Manos del Uruguay was founded to give Uruguay's rural women jobs, income, and the opportunity to personally develop and gain independence while keeping their roots and traditions. The company encourages women to stay close to their community and families with 12 cooperatives in a small village in the Uruguayan countryside. The artisans are the owners of this cooperative, too.
All of the yarns are hand-dyed by artisans using big pots heated by wood kettles, dyed in small batches to create wonderful colors. The yarn colors are bright and wild, full of nuances and variations. No two skeins are the same, and each one is unique. Wool Clasica is hand spun by Manos artisans who keep the traditional hand spinning skills alive and create unique, beautiful yarns.
Manos del Uruguay has been a member of the WFTO, World Fair Trade Organization, since 2009. Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based transparency and respect that seeks greater equity in international trade. As a Fair Trade organization, Manos Del Uruguay supports producers and raises awareness for changes in the rules and practice of international trade.
