The Croft: DK Collection One by Sarah Hatton & Rosee Woodland

West Yorkshire Spinners

2 items left

Designed by Sarah Hatton and Rosee Woodland, this collection of women’s and men’s knitwear features modern colorwork, graphic textures and interesting cables that are perfect for layering through the ever-changing seasons.

The rural agricultural community on the Shetland Islands has a long and prestigious history of rearing Britain's most northerly native sheep and collecting their sustainable, high-quality wool.  Known as crofting, this practice is integral to the landscape, cultural heritage & economy.

The exclusive relationship with Jamieson & Smith allows West Yorkshire Spinners to work with the fleece which is world-renowned for it's fineness, warmth & strength.  The high crimp and wave in the fiber combined with its soft & silky handle create the perfect yarn for hand knitting.

"Shetland yarn has long been a favorite of mine so I was delighted to see The Croft DK join the West Yorkshire Spinners range. My designs were inspired by the rugged North Sea coastline - from the coils of thick ropes seen on the foreshore, to the prows of fishing boats and of course the wild waters themselves."  --Rosee Woodland

"The yarn shows texture incredibly well which allowed me to include some cables in the collection, as well as simple pieces for a relaxing knit. We have included something to appeal to knitters of all skill levels."  --Sarah Hatton
