Cubby Bear is Louie Bear’s little brother.  Knit from head to toe with two strands of worsted weight wool yarn, he is knit in a single piece without seaming.  Cubby is then felted in a washing machine and stuffed with fiberfill. His face is simple embroidery with optional safety eyes.  Since Cubby is felted, he is more durable than your average bear.  In fact, he can take so much loving, he might just might become a family heirloom!  Cubby’s red vest is included with the pattern.

Directly from Cindy:  "I’ve found that many of my customers are accomplished knitters but unsure of their felting skills. I’ve recently started a newsletter where I answer customer’s questions and provide tips on felting, as well as announce new patterns and provide substantial newsletter-only discounts." Newsletter Signup

Pattern Kit includes .pdf file & printed pattern as well as selected yarn, safety eyes, 5 yds black yarn, & polyfill for stuffing. For yarn winding services, click here.

ALTERNATE YARN: Woolstok by Blue Sky Fibers (100% Peruvian Fine Highland Wool; 50g/123 yds): 6 Skeins MC & 1 Skein CC. This heathered and soft wool comes from Peru and is wonderfully soft, but not as soft as merino wool.  Very durable and can be knit several times without any fraying, just like NatureSpun.  Heathering adds extra depth and different colored "hairs" in the finished toy.  PRE-ORDER now available in any color, shipping immediately.

ALTERNATE YARN: Merino Worsted by Malabrigo (100% Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 4 Skeins MC & 1 Skein CC.  Felts beautifully & is so cuddly soft due to the luxurious merino wool!   Merino Worsted is available in subtle to wildly variegated colors.  Speckled bear anyone?
