This decadent shawl by Laura Aylor is knitted from the top-down in 2 or 3 colors. The shawl features 10 different textured and/or colorwork stitch patterns and is perfect for the easily bored knitter who needs an escape from 'mindless knitting'.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Haven DK by Sunshine Yarns (60% Merino Wool / 20% Silk / 20% Yak; 100g/230 yds): 3 skeins, 1 of each color in yardage described below.  Shown in Natural, Winter Warmer & Storybrook.

ALTERNATE YARN: Skyland by Blue Sky Fibers (40% Fine Highland Wool / 30% Silk / 30% Baby Alpaca; 100g/210 yds): 3 Skeins Main Color, 1/2 Skein Color B & 1/2 Skein Color C -OR- 3 Skeins Main Color & 1 Skein Color B.  Beautifully plied yarn with great drape, warmth and sheen in solid colorways.

ALTERNATE YARN: Arroyo by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/335yds): 1.5 Skeins Main Color, 2 MINI Skeins Color B & 2 MINI Skeins Color C -OR- 1.5 Skeins Main Color & 1 Skein Color B.  Use Arroyo if you would like a bit of color variegation from the kettle-dyed, merino wool, superwash yarn.  The colors are spectacular and will astound even the tried and true knitter.

ALTERNATE YARN: Prairie Spun DK by Brown Sheep Co.  (100% USA Wool; 100g/256yds): 2 Skeins Main Color, 1/2 Skein Color B & 1/2 Skein Color C. -OR- 2 Skeins Main Color & 1 Skein Color B.  Spun & Dyed in the USA from American Sheep in this classic staple yarn.  Please know that this yarn will not be as soft as merino wool.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 58" wingspan x 26" tall at center
YARDAGE: 460 yds main color, 85 yds Color B & 70 yds Color C + 30 yds in color B or C (optional I-cord bind-off) -OR- 460 yds Main Color, 155 yds Color B + 30 yds (for optional bind-off) All kits will include extra 30 yds for optional bind-off.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate- I-cord, great for learning new stitch patterns like slipped stitches!

NEEDLES: Size US 5 / 3.75mm & US 6 / 4mm 32" circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
OTHER TOOLS: Stitch Markers, Tapestry Needle, Blocking tools such as mats, pins & wires (optional)
GAUGE: 20 sts = 4" in Garter Stitch after blocking
