Perfect Felted Bag 
This crochet pattern was developed to create the perfect purse or bag.  It has a nice and deep oval bottom that allows the bag sit flat on a table. The top color band is used as a guide for placing the straps, and you can’t go wrong with any color combination! A sweater/lint shaver was used to put a nice smooth finish on each piece after felting.  Instructions include photos for attaching the straps and D-rings.

Please note that superwash or washable wools will not felt properly for this pattern.

 Worsted Weight

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Classic Wool Worsted by Patons (100% Wool: 100g/210yds): 2 Skeins MC (Main Color) & 1 Skein CC (Contrasting Color).

ALTERNATE YARN: NatureSpun Worsted by Brown Sheep Co. (100% USA Wool; 100g/245yds: 2 Skeins Main Color (MC) & 1 Skein Contrasting Color (CC). This 100% USA Wool yarn is plied and available in solid colorways for striking contrasts.  

ALTERNATE YARN: Merino Worsted by Malabrigo (100% Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 2 Skeins Main Color (MC) & 1 Skein Contrasting Color (CC).  Merino Worsted is a single-ply, super soft merino wool that felts beautifully.  Variegated colors add movement and texture to your finished piece.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 23.5" circumference around top edge, after felting (30" approximate circumferece before felting) x 9.5" tall after felting (approximately 15.5" tall before felting)
YARDAGE: 550-600 yds
SKILL LEVEL: Easy

HOOKS: 4mm - G
OTHER TOOLS: Stitch markers, tapestry needle; 4 D-rings in 2" width
