Getting ready for Fall

Getting ready for Fall

August 25, 2016

The seasons are starting to change, and for those in the southern states, there is relief from the oppressive heat.  With the temperature drop, many find themselves thinking of their next adventure with yarn.  The summer tees and sundresses have been finished, so it is time to start cooler weather garments.

This week's knitting spotlight is especially for my knitting buddy, Nan.  SOCKS, SOCKS, SOCKS!  While many people love to make socks, some have never tried.  For beginners and even advanced sock makers, there are some wonderful yarns by Regia that make the process straight forward and even easy!  From their fair-isle dyed yarns (yes, you knit in regular stockinette stitch and the yarn magically changes colors to make a fair-isle design!), stripes (the yarn changes colors for you to make perfect stripes!) & gradients, there is something for everyone!

I am especially intrigued by Regia's Pairfect Yarn.  Bright yellow starter threads automatically change to the pattern to create 2 perfectly matched socks.

From Regia-"The yellow starter thread marks the beginning of each sock. Simply cut off the yellow starter thread and begin knitting the first sock. After the first sock is completed, unwind the yarn to the next yellow starter thread and cut it off. Then simply knit the second sock."

No row counting or color changes required.  This is one of the most ingenious inventions in the yarn industry.  Yarn Loop also adds 3 convenient patterns to each ball of yarn so that you have everything you need to make your socks.  One of the patterns is directly off of Regia's website to make the perfect length of socks. Regia's pattern includes Kids size 5 to Men's size 11.5.  A touch of nylon for durability and virgin wool creates a soft, squishy, warm and long-lasting Pairfect socks.

You can make it a yarn bundle by adding Getting Started Knitting Socks by Ann Budd or Sock Knitting Master Techniques.

$4 off each skein of Pairfect using code PAIRFECTPAIR good until September 2, 2016

Do you have a favorite sock pattern?  Send it over to Yarn Loop so that others can try out a great pattern!

Don't forget to post your finished project to Yarn Loop's Facebook Page, Twitter, or Blog for $5 off your next purchase.  The only stipulation is that the yarn or yarn kit must be purchased from Yarn Loop.  Add a review of your purchasing experience to the blog and get another $5 coupon!
