October Fun

October Fun

October 22, 2016

October is always such a fun time with the changing of seasons and the relief from the oppressive heat in the southern states.  The month closes with a bang as Halloween delivers tons of parties, candy, and costumes.  You have a few days left to make something small to top off the perfect costume for your cutie patootie.  Order by Tuesday so that you have enough time to complete the projects. Simply click or type Halloween into the search bar at the bottom of the page to see some of the best crocheted and knitted pieces.

Kids' Pumpkin Project-Cover a balloon with Elmer's glue and twist yarn all over the balloon, making sure to cross the strings.  When the glue has dried fully, pop the balloon and top with a pipe cleaner stem and vine to make a pumpkin!  (as seen in the photo above).  A special thanks to my son's elementary for this ingenious idea!

This month has brought great fun to Yarn Loop as well.  We have received beautiful Malabrigo yarns and welcomed the arrival of the magazines Knitscene and knit.wear from Interweave Press.  Yarn Loop is still adding knitting kits from both magazines, so make sure that you check in next week to see what else we have!  Yarn Loop has also added Project Bags to the inventory.  Specially customized Yarn Loop bags will be available next week to commemorate the wonderful colors of Fall (shown below).  Yarn Swifts and Winders will make their appearance as well.

The Maya Hat is shown above in Aquas on the left, with a second partially completed in Lime (center).  Please check our instagram feed to see the hats in progress.

Also, Yarn Loop will be bringing in some wonderful lines for November!  At the top of the list is Cascade Yarns.  This workhorse yarn company has one of the biggest offerings of fibers, and the combinations are staggering.  Make sure to put in your request through the Blog, Facebook, or Twitter so that we will stock exactly what you need.

Addi and ChiaoGoo needles and crochet hooks will also make their first appearance at Yarn Loop.  We are so excited to bring in both of these lines, and will have some excellent sets ready for Black Friday in both wood and metal.  Ergonomically designed handles for hooks, memory-free cords for circulars, and blunt and sharp pointed needles will be available in as little as 2 weeks!

Yarn Loop has some BIG projects coming your way!  Our first Knit-Alongs will be announced in November, and I promise that you will want to participate.

Thank you for your continued interest in Yarn Loop.  Tell your knitting groups about us, and we will generate a special discount for the members!  Remember, all packages are shipped with a small surprise ranging from samples, stitch markers, or even a free pattern!  And as always, free shipping on all orders over $75.

Special Promotion-Post a pic of your knitted and crochet Halloween costumes or accessories and receive a $3 coupon!  Post a picture of you knitting in your costume for a $5 coupon! Link it to Yarn Loop's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest profile today.
