Spring Projects, New Arrivals & DFW Knit Along!

Spring Projects, New Arrivals & DFW Knit Along!

March 10, 2017

Spring Break has finally arrived, and it is already warm in Texas with temperatures reaching into the 80's daily.  Everyone is pulling out their tees and shorts in anticipation of the spring, Roadrunner is still knocking at the door to come in, and the mountain laurels and Bluebonnets are blooming!

It is time to start those warmer weather projects, and I would like to present three of my favorites to you today.

Recently acquired from Alana Dakos of Never Not Knitting, the Haltermelon is my absolute favorite top for little girls under 6.  The colors are bright, the pattern is darling, and the cotton yarns are so nice!  Please go to Yarn Loop's Instagram to see how quickly this project knits up!  This project was started yesterday, so expect lots of images to hit this week!  I chose Blue Sky Fiber's Organic Cotton Worsted, and is it a dream to knit!  It is so fluffy!  (Insert image from Despicable Me of the youngest girl shaking the unicorn here).  I find myself petting the finished stitches because the fibers melt together into a lovely finished garment.

Alana Dakos also designed the Very Cherry Dress.  This dress warms my heart when I think about little girls wearing in on Easter Sunday sitting in church with little red shoes and picking up eggs in the green grass.  The bobbles around the neckline and lace hem are sure to make your little girl feel very special indeed, and I know that all moms and dads will love seeing the photographs of their little cherub in this handmade dress for years to come.  This is truly an heirloom piece made on easy, breezy cotton!  Now available for immediate shipping on Catania yarn!

The Seiche Tank by Yoko Johnston is a project that has been on my to-do list since its arrival in Knitscene Magazine over a year ago.  Knitscene always delivers the most beautiful summer garments, and Seiche is at the top of the list.  The tank boasts wide straps and a floating A-line hem to flatter all body types and sizes.  It is made on Hempathy yarn, a European favorite that is very similar to a linen/cotton blend like Zooey by Juniper Moon Farm (COMING SOON!).  Hempathy is known to get softer with each wash, and hemp is truly colorfast.  I will be starting the Seiche Tank around April 1st and will post progress photos on Yarn Loop's Instagram.  Make sure to like our page so you can Knit Along with me! Enjoy 20% off of this kit or 15% off individual Hempathy skeins until April 1st!
