The Yuki Jacket is a very modern cardigan with a pixelated color change at bottom of the sleeves and hem.  Gorgeous ribbing allows the jacket to skim the figure, and the raglan sleeves are built into the pattern with a wide stitch pattern to set off the change in plane.  This top-down, stranded colorwork pattern is simply irresistible!  Introduced in knit.wear Fall/Winter 2016.

A Note from Yarn Loop- This is a fairly advanced pattern requiring buttonhole bands, leaning increases (RLI, LLI), and cable method cast-on's.  You must count any row that is notated to make sure that you haven't added too many stitches in the yoke.  While the pattern calls for Fingering weight held double in 2 colors (some stitches are blended with 1 strand of each color), this pattern may be worked with worsted weight for the body of the sweater with 3 shades for the colorwork as well.  We have provided both options for you here!  We r ecommend washing all skeins prior to winding yarn in balls.  Since the color changes are so noticeable, please wash each color separately before beginning your project.  Please see Yarn Loop's Instagram feed for our FO!

Kit includes pdf & printed pattern, 3 buttons and selected yarn.  Please add your button selection to "Notes" at checkout, or we can choose the buttons for you, too.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Primo Fingering by the Plucky Knitter (75% Extrafine Italian Superwash Merino Wool / 20% Cashmere / 5% Nylon; 100g/385yds): 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) Skeins Main Color (MC) & 2 (2, 2, 2, 3) Skeins Contrasting Color (CC).  Shown in Dive Bar & Wintry Mix

ALTERNATE YARN: Rios by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 3 (3, 4, 4, 6) Skeins MC & 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) Skein CC1 & 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) Skeins CC2.  Rios is a workhorse yarn with easy care cleaning instructions.  It flows smoothly through your fingers and is soft Merino Wool.  Since Rios is kettle-dyed, there is a slight color variation that makes a mottled effect in the finished garment.  Do not hold double for this pattern!  Use Azul Profundo, Playa & Pearl to match original colors.  PRE-ORDER also available.

ALTERNATE YARN: NatureSpun Worsted by Brown Sheep Co(100% USA Wool; 100g/245yds): 3 (4, 4, 4, 5) Skeins MC & 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) Skein CC1 & 1 (1, 1, 1, 2) Skeins CC2.  Try NatureSpun Worsted for a long-wearing, budget friendly Yuki Jacket.  While it won't be as soft as Rios, it has the wearability of multi-plied wool made in the USA!
